Quick answer: +57 is Colombia. Every Colombian number has 10 digits after +57. Mobiles start with 3 and landlines start with 60. There is no leading 0 to drop. Example:
+57 310 234 5678.
How to dial Colombia
| Calling from | Dial |
|---|---|
| Any mobile phone | +57 + 10 digits |
| US or Canada landline | 011 57 + 10 digits |
| Spain or UK landline | 00 57 + 10 digits |
Colombia has no trunk prefix. People dial the same 10 digits inside the country that you dial after +57, so a number written as 604 444 5678 becomes +57 604 444 5678. Don't add a 0.
Mobile and landline numbers
Mobiles are 10 digits starting with 3, usually written 310 234 5678. The first three digits once showed the network, but with number portability they no longer tell you which one the person uses now.
Landlines are 60, a region digit and a 7-digit local number. Each region code covers several departments, so different cities can share one.

Time difference
Colombia is on UTC-5 all year, with no daylight saving time. The gap changes when your own clocks change.
| Where you are | Your clocks on summer time | Your clocks on standard time |
|---|---|---|
| US East Coast | Colombia is 1h behind | Same time |
| US West Coast | Colombia is 2h ahead | Colombia is 3h ahead |
| UK | Colombia is 6h behind | Colombia is 5h behind |
| Spain | Colombia is 7h behind | Colombia is 6h behind |
A 6 PM call from Madrid reaches Bogotá at 11 AM in the European summer and at noon in the European winter.

FAQ
Can I call a Colombian 01 8000 toll-free number from abroad?
Usually not. Toll-free numbers starting 01 800 are set up for callers inside Colombia. Look for the company's regular 60X landline or mobile number instead.
My Colombian landline number has only 7 digits. What's missing?
The 60 and region digit. Since September 2021 every landline uses a 3-digit code, so an old Bogotá number written (1) 234 5678 is now 601 234 5678, or +57 601 234 5678 from abroad.
